If a Good Samaritan hadn’t intervened to save her child, the mother of a person who was injured in a Selkirk, Man., machete attack on Friday nights claims she may have lost him. Two wounded men were found by RCMP officers at the image, outside a Main Street table, including Broderick Tkachyk, a testimony to the encounter, and the original sufferer, who had been stabbed with a machete. Tkachyk, who has been living in a camp in Selkirk as a result of drug use and constitutional issues, said he hopes to use the incident as inspiration to restart his life. I simply don’t want to lead that obedient life any longer. He said,” I don’t want to be the trouble; I want to be the answer.” I was taught to do what you would want to do to yourself on your own. I’d like someone to assist me, that’s the important thing.”
