Tracy Ohiri, the woman who accused the Minister of Works, David Umahi, of owing her money, has apologised and withdrawn her allegations.
Ohiri denied accusing Umahi of tying wrapper and visiting her hotel room, stressing that she was “quoted out of context”.
In a viral video, Ohiri admitted that Umahi did not invite her to Ebonyi State and clarified that she had no direct dealings with the construction company, Nella Engineers.
She expressed regret over the controversy generated by her claims and apologised to the minister and his family for any embarrassment caused.
“I apologize for the confusion and embarrassment these allegations have caused him and his family,” she added.
Ohiri further explained that after consulting with her family and reviewing the events of the past week, she decided it was best to seek peace and move on from the matter.
“I never said David Umahi tied wrapper to meet me in a hotel room. After proper consultation with my family and a painstaking review of the events of last week, I have come to the conclusion that it’s important that we give peace a chance.
“I apologize to Minister Umahi for the embarrassment this allegation may have caused him and his family,” she said.
