The newly nominated Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa, rtd, has pledged to ensure that Nigeria is safe and secure amid the escalating insecurity ravaging the country.
Musa made this promise on Wednesday during his screening as Defence Minister at the Senate chamber of the National Assembly.
DAILY POST reports that President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday nominated Musa as Defence Minister following the resignation of Badaru Mohammed, allegedly on health grounds.
Speaking during the screening, Musa said, “I pledge to do my best to ensure that Nigeria is secure and safe. We need the support of everyone, every Nigerian, working together as a team because it’s going to be a team effort.
“The enemies we are dealing with are evil forces that don’t mean well for this country and have no respect for human lives and that’s why it’s important to know that if we don’t work together, we will give them the opportunity to perpetrate the evil acts they have been doing.”
