Today, faced with the economic challenges linked to the negotiations with the IMF, the social tensions and the political situation in the country, it becomes imperative to redefine the political landscape, to attract investors and to identify the key actors on which to rely to face a year that promises to be difficult for Senegal (2026). I believe in his sincerity and remain convinced that he retains the same will as at the beginning: to succeed in the mission he had given himself by going to seek Ousmane Sonko to carry out the PASTEF project and one day become the President of the Republic of this country, a project he helped to build with his friends. There is no politics without emotion. We often speak of “politics of hate” (the Senegalese opposition) or of “politics of love” (a part of the militants of Pastef). Emotion, although the source of all political engagement, can easily be exploited. It constitutes both a force and a major risk. President Diomaye is today the only Senegalese to have sworn, before the entire nation, to respect the law, the institutions of the country and to make them respected. He must constantly strike a balance between the demands of the Republic and the realities of politics. As for President Ousmane Sonko, he remains the most influential politician in Senegal, if not Africa.
I remain convinced, in my ordinary folly, that President Diomaye works above all for the strengthening of PASTEF. (Parliament adopted the resolution)
