IGP expresses sorrow over passing of 2 retired senior police officers

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has conveyed his profound shock and sorrow regarding the deaths of two retired senior officers: Retired DIG Moses Ambakina Jitoboh and Pastor Bola Longe (AIG Rtd.). Retired DIG Jitoboh, who was the Deputy Inspector-General of Police in the Department of Information & Communications Technology at Force Headquarters prior to his retirement in 2023, passed away in the early hours of Friday, December 27, 2024, following a brief illness. Pastor Bola Longe (AIG Rtd.), who held the position of Commissioner of Police in Nasarawa State and served as the Assistant Inspector-General of Police overseeing Federal Operations at Force Headquarters Abuja before his retirement in 2021, died on Sunday, December 22, 2024. In a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, IGP Egbetokun recognized the significant contributions of these officers to the Nigeria Police Force, highlighting their commitment to service and steadfast integrity. He expressed that their loss is a tremendous blow to the entire Nigeria Police Force. The IGP, on behalf of the officers of the Nigeria Police Force, extended his heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the late Retired DIG Moses Jitoboh and Pastor Bola Longe (AIG Rtd.), offering prayers for comfort during this challenging time. “May they find eternal peace.”
