Former Super Eagles striker Victor Ikpeba has expressed his support for the new coach Eric Chelle, hoping he can lead the team to success at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Super Eagles aim to secure their fourth AFCON title in Morocco. In the group stage of AFCON 2025, they will compete against Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. Chelle previously led Mali to the quarter-finals in the last AFCON held in Cote d’Ivoire. Ikpeba expressed confidence in the former defender’s capability to maximize the players’ potential. “He is a young coach with a strong understanding of African football,” he remarked to Super Sport. “He will enhance the performance of the Super Eagles.
