
āThe Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Audu Garba Bosso, has harped on the importance of community engagement in securing lives and property, maintaining that security remains a collective responsibility between the Police and members of the public.

The Command had, in effort to strengthen Police-Community partnership in tackling insecurity across communities, held a critical stakeholdersā security summit, where it engaged critical partners in discussions on enhancing safety among residents.
āThe summit, hosted by the newly posted Divisional Police Officer, New Owerri Division, CSP Safiyanu Usman Gwarzo, attracted the attendance of Traditional Rulers, Government Officials, Business Owners, Youth Leaders, PCRC Chairman and residents of New Owerri.
It also provided a platform for participants to share concerns and propose practical solutions that will improve the peace and security of New Owerri for sustained economic growth.

āThe Commissioner of Police, represented by the DC Operations, Hamzat A. Abdulkadir, emphasised the need for coperation between residents and security agencies.
In his submission, Eze Lucky Okoro, who represented Eze Imo, Eze E.C. Okeke, lauded the initiative, describing it as timely and crucial to the security and development of the state, especially within the Capital City and its environment.
The Monarch, on behalf of Eze Imo, assured the police command of the continued support of traditional institutions in safeguarding communities.

āIn attendance were the Area Commander, Owerri Urban; the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department, AC X-Squad and the recently promoted Chief Principal Security Officer to the Governor, ACP Shaba Gboyako Adamu.
The Police Chiefs, in their separate speeches, stressed the importance of enhancing collaboration, intelligence driven operations, and mutual trust as essential pillars for a safer Imo.
