In 2027, Aregbesola announces that the ADC is the sole credible alternative for Nigeria.

Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, the former Governor of Osun State and National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has stated that the ADC is the only reliable political option in the lead-up to the 2027 general elections, presenting it as a party committed to morality and serving the Nigerian people. Aregbesola made these comments on Saturday during the formal launch of the ADC’s new state headquarters in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State. He criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for its inadequate governance and its failure to fulfill Nigerians’ expectations, claiming that “hunger has taken over the land” during the current administration. Aregbesola stated that governance has been diminished to self-serving gain and the use of political intimidation. “The leadership failure of the APC is causing hardship for Nigerians.” He asserted that the declining economic conditions in the nation would lead to greater public backing for the ADC, which he characterized as a party based on discipline, accountability, and service to its constituents. Additionally, former Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, remarked during the event that the rise of the ADC signified the beginning of a new political movement in Kwara. He stated that the party is committed to establishing a governance model that embodies the shared desires of the populace. “Kwara will experience a transformation because the ADC aims to implement a new system that genuinely reflects the will of our citizens,” Ahmed expressed. “Our farmers are facing hardships because of insecurity, and it is essential for the government to rebuild trust so they can safely go back to their farms.” In his statements, Bolaji Abdullahi, ADC’s National Publicity Secretary and ex-Minister of Youth and Sports, claimed that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has become irrelevant, emphasizing that the ADC now serves as the only effective opposition party in Kwara and nationwide. “Can you believe this party was launched just three months ago?” “This demonstrates that the people have welcomed us,” Abdullahi stated.
