A number of infamous bandit leaders in the Dan Musa Local Government Area of Katsina State have turned in their weapons and freed 16 individuals who had been kidnapped as part of a disarmament effort. This event took place on Saturday, organized by Operation Fasin Yamma in conjunction with local partners. Among those who surrendered were notorious leaders such as Kamulu Buzaru, Manore, Nagwaggo, Lalbi, Alhaji Sani, Dogo Baidu, Dogo Nahalle, and Abdulkadir Black. They released seven women and nine children to the authorities, also committing to free more captives by Sunday. The Nigerian Army confirmed that the weapons surrendered have been secured, and the victims have been transferred to the appropriate local government bodies for care and reuniting with their families.
