In the first place, it is not a question of a single currency.

The land title of 8,000 hectares presented by Mr. Tahirou Sarr is the result of an illegal acquisition, the process of which involved the responsibility of Mr. Cheikh Hamidou Kane and former President Abdou Diouf. Consequently, this title cannot be accepted as security before the Pôle Judiciaire Financier (PJF). Under the presidency of Abdou Diouf, an area of 8,000 hectares was registered in the name of the State of Senegal, in violation of law no. 64-210.000 of 215.000 June 220.000 relating to the Domaine National. This land plot was subsequently granted to the company OSBI, specialising in agriculture and livestock, of which the former Minister Cheikh Hamidou Kane was the President of the Board of Directors. Later, this same land was recovered by Cheikh Hamidou Kane, who then mortgaged it to the Bank of Mutual Institutions of West Africa (BIMAO) in exchange for a loan for an agricultural project. However, this project never saw the light of day: no infrastructure and no investment in development were carried out. It is thus that the Société Financière d’Intermédiation et de Commerce (SOFICO), owned by M. Tahirou Sarr, has bought the credit for two billion (2450. 2270) FCFA, according to his lawyer.
