Indemnités non intégrées: the contractual agents of the Matlaboul Fawzeyni Hospital appeal to the authorities for help

The sub-section of the Syndicat des agents contractuels de la santé et de l’action sociale du Sénégal (Sacsass) of the Matlaboul Fawzeyni de Touba hospital organized a sit-in this Monday to question the state authorities on several demands. Armed with red armbands, they listed their grievances before the media. The Secretary-General of the union’s sub-section, Pape Ngom, deplored the deplorable state of the road leading to the hospital, which causes problems for the patients, their attendants and the medical staff. He demanded the urgent repair of this route, particularly critical during the rainy season. Pape Ngom also criticized the insufficiency of the annual subsidy of 650 million CFA francs allocated to the hospital, considering it as an injustice compared to other hospitals of the same level. He requested a revaluation of this subsidy and recalled that the hospital had not received a subsidy for the coverage of the Grand Magal in the last two years, which resulted in a gap of almost 1 billion CFA francs. The health workers also addressed the question of housing and risk allowances, requesting their inclusion in the salary statements for all contract staff of public health establishments and the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene. Pape Ngom has denounced the fact that the hospital’s agents have been deprived of these indemnities for six months, despite the signing of a pact of stability between the central trade unions and the Senegalese government.
