According to the information reported by Libération, activist Assane Diouf, who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) following offensive and ethnically motivated statements against Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, will be presented to the public prosecutor on Monday, March 3. During his hearing by the investigators, Assane Diouf refused to mention explicitly the name of the head of government, stating that, in the incriminated video, no name had been cited. In this same case, Abdoulaye Ndiaye, also charged with similar offences, will also have to explain himself before the public prosecutor. The judicial authorities will thus have to rule on the qualification of the facts which are reproached to them and decide on the action to be taken in this case, in a context of strong political tension.
