A former member of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Yusuf, has decried the worsening security situation in Nigeria.
Featuring in an interview on ‘Politics Today’, a programme on Channels Television monitored by DAILY POST on Wednesday, Yusuf attributed the escalated insecurity to playing of politics.
He said, “We are where we are today because when it started, we deliberately played politics with it. People were looking at who’s in power, who’s not in power.
“The north is complicit and played a major role in giving these people feathers; they saw it as an opportunity to throw out Jonathan in 2014. And people played a lot of politics with it. And that’s where we are today.
“So if we are genuinely sincere that we want to get out of this, we must be passionate, sincere with ourselves and we must make sure no Nigerian regardless of his position will be above the law.
“If you cross the line, you’re gone. So we must get the necessary political backup to get what’s right.”
