In line with the policing vision and reform initiatives of the Inspector General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command, Emmanuel Ado, has issued an operational order for immediate deployment of enhanced security strategies around schools, public infrastructures, and communities across the state.
The order was issued at a strategic meeting convened with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Heads of Departments, and Management Team of the Command.
During the meeting, CP Ado charged DPOs and tactical commanders to develop robust action plans and engage more closely with community leaders, vigilante groups, and neighborhood watch to ensure an inclusive and secure environment.
“The Command remains resolute in its commitment to protect the lives and property of citizens and will continue to deploy strategic policing measures to guarantee public safety, especially in and around school environments”, he reiterated.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Commissioner emphasized the importance of interagency collaboration, early-warning and intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and the activation of community-driven security structures.
He also ordered the strengthening of visibility policing, intensive patrols, night detachments, and rapid-response tactics to ensure swift intervention against any threat of kidnapping, insurgency, or criminal syndicates.
“We are calling on residents of the state to remain law-abiding, vigilant, and to continue supporting security agencies with timely information to sustain peace and stability across the state”, CP Ado called.
Recall that Governor Mai Mala Buni had recently approved the temporary closure of all boarding schools in the state as a proactive measure against potential abduction of students.
