The police station of Nginth à Thiès is conducting an investigation into the death of a man who was killed in a violent attack. This interpellation was made possible by the rapid intervention of the elements of the Groupe mobile d’intervention (GMI), stationed near the Cathédrale Sainte-Anne. Young citizens informed them that a man had just stabbed a person at the central market of Thiès. The agents of the GMI immediately seized, interrogated and conducted the suspect to the police station. The victim, seriously injured, was transported d’urgence à l’hôpital par des tiers.. Questioned summarily, the accused declared that a dispute with the victim, concerning an affair of shoes, had degenerated. Following an exchange of disagreeable words, he admitted to having stabbed the victim twice with a knife he carried on him. The testimonies collected on the spot, at the central market, have allowed the reconstruction of the facts.
