On 14 September, the Commissariat d’arrondissement de Dieuppeul carried out an interrogation of a man suspected of being involved in a traffic in Indian hemp. The operation, carried out on the basis of operational intelligence, resulted in the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs, estimated at 5 kilograms and 500 grams. According to the details provided by the authorities, the intervention was triggered by information indicating the imminent receipt of an important cargo of Indian hemp by a main suspect. A surveillance and intervention team was rapidly deployed on the scene to anticipate the arrival of the illicit goods. When the main suspect presented himself, the police tried to apprehend him. However, the latter managed to escape by climbing a terrace, leaving behind him his alleged accomplice. The latter was immediately interviewed on the spot by the agents. A thorough search of the premises revealed the presence of the drug hidden in a bag of rice.
