Iran’s Foreign Ministry has said it has not held any talks with the United States, insisting that its stance on the Strait of Hormuz and conditions for ending the war remains unchanged.
Speaking through the state news agency, spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said, “Messages have been received from some friendly countries regarding the US’s request for negotiations to end the war.”
He added that Iran responded by warning about “the dire consequences of any attack on Iran’s vital infrastructure.”
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump had claimed that American officials had spoken with senior Iranian leaders and that Iran had made the first move.
