Iran has dropped nuclear weapon ambition – Trump

President Donald Trump said Iran has agreed to stop its development of a nuclear weapon, a major issue that led to the United States ongoing operation.

Trump spoke on Tuesday at the swearing-in ceremony for new Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin, a former Senator from Oklahoma.

“They (Iran) have agreed they will never have a nuclear weapon; they have agreed to that,” the President told reporters at the White House.

The U.S. intelligence community recently informed the Senate that Iran is among the five countries developing long-range missiles with the potential to reach the homeland.

Trump insists America has won the war, hinting that the military action will end soon, although he gave no timeframe for the withdrawal of troops and assets.

On the leadership in Iran, the U.S. premier believes regime change has already taken place, as most of the senior officials are no longer there.

“This is a change in the regime because the leaders are all very different than the ones we started off with,” the President noted.

Trump praised the resilience of U.S. forces, revealing Iran shot 100 missiles at USS Abraham Lincoln, but “every single one was knocked down on the sea.

He also commended Gulf allies, who have suffered retaliatory strikes, saying the UAE got hit by 1,400 rockets: “They shot them all in the air with our Patriot missiles.”

Asked if Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is prodding him to do certain things related to Iran, Trump replied: “He does—he is a warrior. He is fighting with us.”

The President dismissed Tehran’s threat regarding the continued blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, telling the press: “We will have control of anything we want.”
