A 35-year-old Senegalese national was arrested by the Italian police after having sacked the rear-view mirrors of parked cars before violently attacking the police officers who came to interpeller him. The events took place in Pescara, a quiet residential area of the city, where witnesses alerted the authorities after seeing the individual methodically breaking automobile equipment. According to the first elements of the investigation reported by “Les Echos”, the man had damaged several vehicles without identifiable reason, arousing the misunderstanding of the locals. The police, dispatched on the spot, have tried to control him, but he has opposed a fierce resistance. L’interpellation has rapidly degenerated. The suspect allegedly insulted and shoved the agents before threatening them verbally, then moving on to physical aggression. Quickly brought under control, he was taken to the commissariat where he was placed in custody.
