Head coach Eric Chelle of the Super Eagles emphasizes the significance of securing a favorable outcome against Sudan in their upcoming match at the 2024 African Nations Championship, according to Completesports. The Eagles kicked off their tournament with a defeat, falling 1-0 to the reigning champions Senegal last Tuesday. In order to keep their hopes alive for the knockout stages, Nigeria needs to secure a win against Sudan. “This is a crucial match; we have to win tomorrow and then we’ll assess the situation,” Chelle stated during a press conference on Monday. Additionally, Dosu emphasized that the Home Eagles’ defense must be solid against Sudan in the upcoming game. Winning this match would greatly benefit the team, as it would allow us to advance beyond the group stage. Chelle supported the leading position of Remo Stars within the team, mentioning that countries such as Sudan, South Africa, and Morocco also feature players from their top clubs. “Remo Stars is the top team in Nigeria, and we aim to recruit the best players for this tournament,” he stated. The match is scheduled to take place at the Amman Stadium in Zanzibar on Tuesday. By Adeboye Amosu.
