Celestine Donkor, a Ghanaian church composer, claims she was duped by Papaye’s online dining experience. Celestine shared how she attempted to buy food from the famous restaurant’s Lapaz branch in a self-recorded movie. She called a phone number listed on their website and placed an order, agreeing to pay for the goods when it would arrive. Yet, the person on the other end advised her to pay in advance so that her order could be processed more quickly. Celestine realized after paying that the phone number she had sent the transaction to wasn’t actually associated with Papaye.
” I called again, and they claimed to become Papaye using the owner’s range, telling me to enter a password to ensure my purchase. That’s when I realized I’d been scammed”, Celestine explained. The team at Papaye Lapaz did not show any concern or willingness to assist her after she reported the incident to them. They said” their attitude made it abundantly clear that they were a part of the scam.” Additionally, Celestine revealed that her mobile money consideration was blocked because of unexpected activity, and that airtime was being transferred to the cybercriminals, similar to a situation involving actress Ahuofe Patricia.
Ahuofe Patricia also described her encounter with fraud after making an online purchase from the Frafraha Papaye tree. A person called a woman and asked her for a password to ensure her order, and she responded with several messages about airtime transfers and attempting to accept a GHC300 transaction. Her SIM cards was gradually terminated because she entered incorrect rules. When she informed the Papaye employees about the hoax, they acknowledged that other users had been impacted but didn’t show any necessity in helping her.
Celestine Donkor and Ahuofe Patricia have both urged users to be careful when using Papaye’s online services because their experience reveal a caring pattern of deceptive activity.
