A recent advancement has made Kisarazu, a town in Chiba Prefecture, the country’s established home for Nigerians looking to live and work there. The announcement was made at the 9th Tokyo International Conference for African Development ( TICAD9 ), where Japan also introduced a brand-new visa category for young, highly skilled, and entrepreneurial Nigerians looking to relocate. The unique visa dispensation will also benefit employees who are ready to upgrade, making this a truly diverse arrangement. Nigeria’s Charged’affaires, Florence Akinyemi Adeseke, who is also the Acting Ambassador to Japan, and Yoshikuni Watanabe, the mayor of Kisarazu, received the certificate confirming the designation at the ceremony held by the Japan International Cooperation Agency ( JICA ). The walk by Japan is a part of a larger program. Along with Kisarazu, Tanzania’s home was named Nagai in Yamagata Prefecture, Ghana’s Sanjo in Niigata Prefecture, and Mozambique’s Imabari in Ehime Prefecture. The objectives are to promote cross-cultural exchanges, enhance labor collaboration, and revitalize local cities. The four places will help lay the groundwork for two-way markets for workforce development that will benefit Japan, Nigeria, and the other three African countries ‘ economic growth, according to the declaration. Kisarazu is hardly a new phenomenon for Nigerians. Group Nigeria stayed in the city while the 2020 Tokyo Olympics were postponed, where players practiced and adapted before the Games. With this innovative understanding, those initial relationships are now developing into a long-term relationship. Shigeru Ishiba, the prime minister of Japan, made the announcement at TICAD9 that there would be a$ 5.5 billion investment in Africa while stressing the importance of collaboration and understanding. Japan is supporting Africa in several ways. But foremost, Japan needs to be more knowledgeable about Africa. Therefore, in collaborating to create solutions at TICAD9, we concentrate on three crucial areas: regional inclusion and connectivity, youth and women, and secret sector-led green growth, he said.
