Professor Abubakar Jika Jiddere has been named the spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF). The appointment was approved by the Convener and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Professor Ango Abdullahi (Magajin Rafin Zazzau), who recognized Prof. Jiddere’s skills and commitment to the Northern cause were praised. A. M. Al-Amin Daggash (rtd), the Chairman of NEF’s Management Board, referred to Professor Jiddere as an esteemed academic with a proven record of excellence and dedication. Jiddere has taken over from Abdul-Azeez Suleiman, who is now the Director of NGOs and CSOs for the Northern Elders Forum. In his acceptance speech, Professor Jiddere expressed his appreciation for the role and reaffirmed his commitment to the Northern Elders Forum’s objectives. Jiddere stated, “I would like to express that I have gladly accepted my new appointment and the responsibilities as the spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum.” He mentioned that the Forum is a non-political organization focused on expressing the shared interests of Northern Nigeria, while promoting unity and national progress throughout the country. He also prayed for Allah’s guidance and protection during his time in office and afterwards.
