Joe Igbokwe criticizes Nigerians who are celebrating the death of Buhari.

A leader from the All Progressives Congress (APC) has criticized some Nigerians who are seemingly pleased by the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. According to DAILY POST, opinions on Buhari’s death are mixed, with some individuals expressing happiness and blaming him for the suffering of Nigerians during his presidency. Following the announcement of his death by President Bola Tinubu’s media aide Bayo Onanuga, celebrations erupted in certain circles on Sunday. In response, Igbokwe took to his official Facebook account to question why the departed former president would be treated this way by those he once led. He condemned the mockery directed at the deceased, suggesting it reflects poorly on society, stating, “Our stupidity is reaching an irreversible level.” We have just introduced another disgraceful aspect to our culture by ridiculing the deceased, as if we were destined to live for a millennium. “I hope that this dreadful and unpleasant conduct will soon be gone.” The former president’s body is slated to be brought back to Nigeria today for an urgent burial in Daura, Katsina State.
