Joe Igbokwe, a leader of the All Progressives Congress, stated on Wednesday that President Bola Tinubu is quietly restructuring Nigeria. He also mentioned that Tinubu is delivering justice to Nigerians and improving the country without drawing attention to it. In a post on his Facebook, Igbokwe wrote: “PBAT is restructuring Nigeria without noise.” PBAT is quietly delivering justice to all Nigerians. PBAT is quietly redefining Nigeria. “PBAT is introducing a new Nigeria discreetly.” PBAT is quietly transforming Nigeria. “It is what it is.” In December 2024, the pan-Yoruba socio-political group Afenifere urged Tinubu to enhance the quality of life for everyone by focusing on and speeding up Nigeria’s political and economic growth through better, people-focused economic reforms and equitable political restructuring in 2025. Afenifere also advocated for more preventive measures and organizational guidelines from the government to avoid future stampede incidents. “We hope the Tinubu administration can create a better life for all by prioritizing and advancing Nigeria’s political and economic development, with improved, people-centered economic reforms and just political restructuring,” Afenifere stated. Additionally, Chidi Odinkalu, a former head of the National Human Rights Commission, remarked that Tinubu cannot advocate for more power devolution to the federating units, as it would jeopardize the authority held by the federal government. Odinkalu expressed these views during an appearance on “Inside Sources with Laolu Akande,” a socio-political show on Channels Television.
