The former director general of the Loterie nationale sénégalaise (Lonase), Lat Diop, is facing a new judicial procedure. According to Seneweb, he was extracted from his cell at the Rebeuss prison on Monday 19 May 2025 and taken to the Division of Criminal Investigations (DIC) for a hearing. This case stems from a complaint lodged by a certain Paul Ndong with the procureur de la République financier, concerning the alleged purchase of an apartment at Almadies, worth 500 million FCFA. The financial prosecutor has entrusted the investigation to the DIC. During his audition, Lat Diop denied any personal involvement in the purchase of this apartment. He claimed to have acted only as an intermediary on behalf of a friend.
