​Kano Pillars Lament Passing of Former Player Who Passed Away in Uganda    

 

Kano Pillars are grieving the loss of their ex-player Abubakar Lawal, who tragically died in a traffic accident in Uganda on Monday. Lawal, who was part of Uganda Premier League team Vipers Sports Club, was en route to the Vipers’ training site at St. Mary’s Stadium in Entebbe, Central Uganda, when the fatal crash occurred on Entebbe Road. In a statement on their X account, Kano Pillars expressed their sorrow over the unexpected death of the 29-year-old, who also played for Wikki Tourists and Nasarawa United. His premature passing is a significant loss for the football community. We offer our deepest sympathies to Lawal’s family, friends, and loved ones. May he rest in peace. Abdul Wasike, the head of communications for Vipers SC, confirmed the player’s passing on Monday. “Today is a somber day as we announce the loss of our player, Lawal.” “We are continuing to collect more details regarding the accident,” Wasike noted. Lawal became a member of Vipers in 2022 after transferring from the Rwandan Premier League club AS Kigali.
