Governor Dikko Radda of Katsina State has shared a memory of his conversation with the late President Muhammadu Buhari. He recalled Buhari expressing sympathy for President Bola Tinubu for having the courage to eliminate the fuel subsidy. Buhari, who died on Sunday at a clinic in London at the age of 82, was laid to rest on Tuesday in his home in Daura with full military honors. Speaking to reporters during the burial proceedings, the governor quoted Buhari, saying: “I pity Bola (President Tinubu) for what he is doing.” He is a courageous individual for eliminating the fuel subsidy. “During my presidency, every time I tried to eliminate the subsidy, numerous people would provide me with countless reasons to refrain from doing so. But Bola acted swiftly.” “Had he sought advice from others, he might not have been able to eliminate the fuel subsidy at this time.” The governor stated that the passing of the former President has left a gap that will be hard to replace.
