Katsina state provides more than N50 million to help ease the hardships faced by victims of bandits.

The Katsina State government has allocated over N50 million to support victims of bandit attacks in the Matazu, Kankia, and Batsari local government areas. Saidu Ibrahim Danja, the Senior Special Assistant on Victims of Banditry and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), distributed the funds to those affected. He clarified that the distribution was intended as support rather than compensation, aimed at alleviating the victims’ difficulties. Danja mentioned that the funds were provided following an assessment ordered by Governor Dikko Umar Radda. He also noted that the Radda administration has been consistently offering similar assistance for the past two years to those who have lost family members and others impacted by banditry. Danja urged the people of Katsina to pray for an end to the insecurity in the state and to help security forces by sharing information about criminal hideouts. Musa Maikudi, Chairman of Kankia Local Government, encouraged beneficiaries to use the funds responsibly and praised the state government for its proactive efforts to tackle insecurity. This initiative highlights the government’s dedication to helping those affected and mitigating the effects of banditry in Katsina State.
