​Kolo Toure has joined the coaching staff of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.    

 

Manchester City has officially appointed Kolo Toure to Pep Guardiola’s coaching staff. The club announced this decision in a statement on Tuesday. The 44-year-old will take on the role of first team assistant coach after previously serving in this capacity during the FIFA Club World Cup this summer. Toure, who had a successful playing career with both Arsenal and City, also impressed in his recent position as Assistant Lead Coach for the Under-18s, where he helped the team secure the Premier League Under-18 North title and reach the FA Youth Cup final, though they fell short against Aston Villa. His coaching background includes experiences with the Ivory Coast national team, as well as coaching roles at Celtic and Leicester City under Brendan Rodgers. Additionally, Kolo had a brief tenure as head coach at Wigan Athletic before joining City’s Academy.
