Kwara Police investigate officers who extorted Offa Poly student of N200,000  

Kwara State Police Command, has commenced investigation into the alleged extortion of a Federal Polytechnic Offa student, Taiwo Kayode Taye, by some officers of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the command, DAILY POST reports.. During a chat with newsmen, the state Police Commissioner, Adekimi Ojo, disclosed that “the officers have been arrested and an investigation commenced in full swing.. He assured that “the accused will not go unpunished.”. Adekimi Ojo, had earlier ordered the arrest of the officers who allegedly extorted a student in the state.. The officers of the Anti-Cultism Unit in the state police command, allegedly arrested, detained and extorted N200,000 from Taiwo after refusing to unlock his phone.. Taiwo, was reportedly stopped at Erin-Ile town while heading to Osogbo in Osun State.. He was taken to Ijagbo police division and was later moved to the state Criminal Investigation Department, CID, in Ilorin where police officers allegedly forced him to unlock his phone and transfer the N200,000 to an account named Lucy Akor.. The police commissioner, who confirmed the incident, expressed displeasure over the conduct of the accused officers.
