Frappés par les fortes pluies de vendredi, some quarters of the commune des Parcelles Assainies are gradually regaining their calm thanks to the intervention of the secours. Although no loss of life has been recorded, the material damage remains significant. Several homes have been flooded, forcing families to seek refuge with neighbours. The mayor, Aboubacar Djamil Sané, assured that efforts are underway to provide them with assistance, including food of first necessity. “The water has been completely withdrawn at the level of units 24 and 25, which are neuralgic points. At Unit 13, the situation improved thanks to the intervention of the firefighters. We also plan to act at unit 11 with motor pumps to change the situation definitively”, he declared on Sud FM. According to him, the situation has improved markedly throughout the commune: “There are no victims, only material damage.
