La vérité sur l’arrestation du fils de l’ancien “tout-puissant” procureur Abdou Karim Diop

An affair that has rocked the judiciary and the educational system. Ibrahim Diop, 33 years old, son of the former Prosecutor of the Republic of Dakar, Abdou Karim Diop, was defrauded this Friday, by the Sûreté urbaine du commissariat central de Guédiawaye. The entrepreneur, domiciled in Sicap-Foire and president of the centre Académie Téranga, is being prosecuted for acts of breach of trust. On 18 September 2025, two separate complaints were filed against Ibrahima Diop with Lieutenant Sy Ba, chef de la Sûreté urbaine de Guédiawaye, by the plaintiffs Rokhaya Niang and Pape Gaoussou Balayeré. Rokhaya Niang, résidente en France, had enrolled her son de 15 ans, citoyen français, at the centre Académie Téranga. According to her declarations, she paid regularly the monthly payments of 150 000 F CFA. However, according to sources close to the public prosecutor’s office, his son frequently reported having been expelled from the partner school where the centre had enrolled him for failure to pay school fees. The case was further complicated when the complainant entrusted the French passport of her son to Ibrahima Diop, in the framework of a planned trip to Spain which never took place.
