Liverpool have submitted a €75 million offer to sign French striker Hugo Ekitiké from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to Sky Sports News.

Discussions between the two clubs are reportedly progressing, with the 23-year-old favouring a move to Anfield over other potential destinations.

Ekitiké, a France international, had also attracted interest from Newcastle United, who were the first to table an official bid.

However, the player’s preference for Liverpool led the Magpies to withdraw from the race.

Liverpool had earlier approached Newcastle in a bold attempt to sign Swedish forward Alexander Isak for £120 million.

Newcastle, however, stood firm in their stance that the striker is not for sale, prompting the Merseyside club to pivot toward Ekitiké.

The Reds are now pushing to finalise a deal as they look to reinforce their attacking options ahead of the 2024/25 season.
