LONASE affair: the former Minister Matar Bâ in the eyes of the investigators

The investigation concerning the funds of the Senegalese National Lottery (LONASE), sent to the Ministry of Sports in the form of a “subsidy for the CAN”, takes a new turn and now seems to be directed towards the former Minister of Sports, Matar Bâ. According to the daily Libération, the investigations have revealed an amount of 355 million CFA francs paid in several instalments. The ex-administrative director of the ministry declared to the investigators to have entirely reversed this sum, while affirming to ignore the final destination of the funds. The journal also states that other personalities, including Ibrahima Ndao, Abdoulaye Kaïré and Hadji Djiby Ndiaye (former director of finance of LONASE), are concerned by measures of judicial control.
