Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, the African police officer accused of shooting and killing his sidechick, Victoria Dapaah called Maadwoa, has denied being involved in her dying in any way.
During his most recent judge meeting on Monday, March 10, 2025, Inspector Twumasi declared himself innocent of all charges and said he does not know anything about Maadwoa’s death.
Twumasi, who is a Ghana Police officer affiliated with the Ashanti Regional Special Weapons and Tactics ( SWAT ) Unit, on assignment as a bodyguard at Manhyia Palace, claims that he heard about Maadwoa’s death the same as everyone else and was not involved.
Under cross-examination from the pursuing counsel, Twumasi denied having any event with Maadwoa as commonly reported in the media.
According to him, Maadwoa was just his companion, and they never had any romantic relationship.
Quizzed about a statement he made to the authorities in which he admitted to some incriminating deeds, he denied having any knowledge of the speech.
Twumasi even denied that following Maadwoa’s dying, he went on the run and had to be hunted down by police. According to him, he always ran ahead and was not even arrested but merely turned himself in after he heard he was being considered as the main suspect.
The test of Inspector Twumasi for allegedly killing Maadwoa has been adjourned.
Victoria Dapaah, a 26-year-old mom of one from Kumasi, was shot and killed on April 20, 2023.
