​Matam hosts a strategic forum for its industrial future 

  The region of Matam (north) was the scene of an important economic meeting on Thursday: the Forum pour l’avenir industriel de Matam, organized by the cabinet Intelligence Groupe. The event was chaired by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Dr. Serigne Guèye Diop, in the presence of M. The Commission is also proposing to extend the scope of the directive to include the following areas: This meeting brought together local elected officials, representatives of the Chamber of Commerce, the administrative authorities and the directors-general of the agencies attached to the Ministry. Together, they have undertaken a strategic reflection on the levers of industrial development of the Matam territory, considered as a key pole in the national growth dynamic. In his speech, the Minister Dr. Diop shared the State’s vision to make Matam an engine of industrial growth, in particular through phosphate mining projects, which are expected to be structural for the economy of northeastern Senegal. “These initiatives will have a decisive impact on the economic transformation of the region”, he underlined. The objective is clear: “to build the industrial future of Matam on the basis of a shared vision, a strong commitment of the actors and a lasting territorial cohesion. ”
