The hosts, with pressure not to disappoint at home, took on Clifton College from Durban and completely dominated the encounter. Saints right wing Cade Elsey and Hooker Oliver Groves opened the scoring with two tries inside 10 minutes.

Wilson added another three points on the score sheet after a well-taken penalty to up the score to 15–0. With the game already leaning in Saints’ favour, crowd favourite full back Sicelo Sakawuli had fans off their feet with a brilliant run from deep in his half. He went passed Clifton’s defence with ease, showing off his speed and power. He was caught just before the finish line, but offloaded the ball to Louis McAslin for the Saints’ third try.
The host were 22–0 up going into half-time. Clifton came back a different side in the second stanza, showing resilience and character. They defended well and looked better when in possession with improved passes, runs and tackles.
However, the home side managed to get one more try and a penalty to take their tally to 32–0. Saints coach Thoriso Shihau admitted that they lost intensity in the second half, but overall, it was a good performance.
