Manchester United are on the verge of completing the signing of Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, 25, in a deal worth €81 million, with medical booked, according to L’Équipe.

The Cameroonian international has agreed personal terms on a five-year contract with an option for an additional year, tying him to Old Trafford until at least 2030.

The deal makes Mbeumo one of United’s most expensive acquisitions, sixth on their all-time list.

Despite strong interest from Premier League rivals Newcastle United, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur, Mbeumo made his preference for Manchester United clear early in the negotiations.

He is expected to undergo a medical in the coming days, with the club hoping to finalize the transfer in time for their upcoming pre-season tour of Asia.

The move signals United’s intent to bolster their attacking options with proven Premier League talent, as Erik ten Hag looks to reshape the squad for the upcoming campaign.
