I have the pleasure of receiving, this Tuesday 10 June, the international Senegalese football Pape Alioune Ndiaye.. He came to me to present his ambitious project of development of sport in the Jolof, already in the course of implementation, with a financing of more than two billion CFA francs. This meeting was an opportunity to recall the importance of sport, especially football, in our country. More than just entertainment, sport is a powerful lever for social cohesion, diplomacy, education and the promotion of physical and mental health. Through its commitment, I invite all the internationals to accompany the sporting programme of the President of the Republic, investing in projects structuring at the service of youth. I also reaffirmed my unwavering support for our football Lions, who are fighting with courage and determination to secure their qualification for the 2026 World Cup. Good luck for the friendly match against England.
