Spirit was located on the side of a logging road and was taken to the BC SPCA. The pregnant mare’s body was covered in hives and welts, and she had lesions all over her body. Spirit’s owner, who had been searching for her and finding her, made the decision to give her to the BC SPCA. On July 28, Spirit gave birth to a healthy foal several weeks after being taken in.
