A 25-year-old man lost his life and another was seriously injured in a collision between two motorcycles “Jakarta”, occurred in the night of Sunday to Monday in Mékhé, in the department of Tivaouane, a learned l’APS de sources sécuritaires. The accident occurred around 23h30, at the intersection between the Route nationale n°2 (RN2) and the Mékhé à Mérina Dakhar, Pékesse et Thilmakha road. The violent collision between the two engines would have been caused by a cruise à vive allure, according to the first observations collected on the spot. Alerted, the sapeurs-pompiers are rapidly intervened to évacue the victims. The body of the 25-year-old driver was taken to the morgue of the Mékhé health centre, while the injured, a young man in his twenties, was admitted for emergency care. According to witnesses present at the time of the tragedy, the motorcycle of the deceased would have disappeared shortly after the collision, a situation considered unusual by the forces of order. An investigation has been opened.
