Messi achieves a historic milestone by scoring two goals for the fifth game in a row in MLS.

Inter Miami’s captain, Lionel Messi, scored his fifth consecutive brace during the 2-0 victory against Nashville SC on Saturday, setting an MLS record. Last week, the 38-year-old made history as the first MLS player to score multiple goals in four straight games. Messi scored in both halves against Nashville, further extending this record. He shares the lead as the top scorer in MLS with Nashville’s Sam Surridge, each having netted 16 goals. Messi opened the scoring after 17 minutes with a stunning free kick, marking his 69th career goal from such set pieces. His second goal came in the 62nd minute when he deftly rounded the goalkeeper and calmly finished.
