In a debate on “The challenges and challenges of employment in Senegal’s national transformation agenda to 2050”, Minister Abass Fall announced the creation of a “Great Coalition for Employment” by 2029. This initiative aims at strengthening the fight against unemployment by relying on four strategic levers: training, employability, support for the private sector and promotion of entrepreneurship. Faced with this reality, the coalition aims to develop tailor-made solutions to promote young people’s access to the labour market. A draft law on economic sovereignty: This reform aims to strengthen the private sector and guarantee an environment conducive to the development of national enterprises. The harmonization of state initiatives in favour of employment: By April 2025, the government plans to unify and rationalise the various existing programmes in order to increase their effectiveness and impact.
