​Minister of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Foreigners: Cheikh Niang officially installed 

  The official ceremony of passing the service was held this Tuesday afternoon at the Ministry of African Integration, Foreign Affairs and External Affairs of Senegal, between His Excellency Madame Yassine Fall, Minister outgoing, and His Excellency Monsieur Cheikh Niang, incoming Minister. On this occasion, Mrs Yassine Fall expressed her deep gratitude to the Head of State for “the double opportunity which has been offered to him to serve the Senegalese Nation”, as well as her thanks to the Prime Minister for the renewed confidence. She drew up a non-exhaustive review of the work carried out under her mandate, praising the commitment and professionalism of all the Ministry’s staff. She concluded her speech by paying tribute to the career of her successor, recalling his major role in the defense of the voice of Senegal at the United Nations and on the international stage, and reaffirming her full support for him in the accomplishment of this highly strategic mission. For his part, His Excellency Mr Cheikh Niang expressed his deep respect for the place of Madame Yassine Fall, underlining the undeniable quality of the work accomplished and “the lasting imprint left on posterity and Senegalese diplomacy”. He also saluted the often discreet but essential artisans of diplomacy, recalling that “nothing lasting is built without the collective force”. In conclusion, he formulated the wish to fully inscribe himself “in the tradition of continuity of the State, of excellence, of self-sacrifice and loyalty that characterizes the actors of the Senegalese diplomacy”.
