Liverpool’s star player, Mohamed Salah, has said his teammate, Dominic Szoboszlai, is the best player in the world.
He thinks their chance of winning trophies this season will depend on how well the Hungarians are performing.
After beating Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Cup, Salah talked to the media and said the win was big for Liverpool.
He also mentioned that the 3-0 result makes the team feel more confident. He praised Szoboszlai’s performance and said (via TFF):
“It’s a very important win for us. It makes us feel more sure about the next matches. I believe the success of a cup run is based on how well Szoboszlai plays.
“We rely on him so much. This season, This season he is one of the best players in the world. It is great to win trophies. Hopefully we can keep going.”
Talking about his game, Salah said he did not want to be compared to Steven Gerrard, and he wanted to create his own story.
“I just want to keep playing and try to score as many points as possible. I’m not playing a Steven Gerrard season. Even though he was a big name at the club, I’m trying to write my own story. I put in my best effort in every game.
“We hope we can keep going until the very end.”
On Saturday, February 14, the Reds beat Brighton & Hove Albion 3-0, with goals from Curtis Jones, Szoboszlai, and Salah at Anfield.
