Monthly Salary Exceeding 200k – Benefits of SIC Managing Director Who Declined to Step Down Resurface – Public Reactions Follow  

The controversy surrounding the SIC Insurance Company Limited leadership transition brought attention to the lucrative compensation package for the position of Managing Director ( MD) and to the newly appointed Acting MD, Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng, who currently holds the position of acting director.
Court files by Ms. Duah-Yentumi reveal an annual income of GH₵840, 000, translating to a regular income of approximately GH₵70, 000. The position comes with a number of valuable benefits in addition to this large income:

Medical Coverage: Comprehensive care for the MD and home.
Monthly Leave: 30 weeks of paid vacation.

However, the management change has been anything but easy. Ms. Duah-Yentumi, who was replaced by Mr. Agyenim-Boateng on 24th January 2025 by President John Mahama’s policy, has apparently refused to facilitate the transition. Allegations suggest that she locked the MD’s business, withheld the tips, and has filed an interlocutory order to avoid Mr. Agyenim-Boateng from assuming the role.
In her complaint, filed through lawyer E. N. Poku Esq., Ms. Duah-Yentumi has named SIC Insurance Company Limited and Mr. Agyenim-Boateng as defendants. The lawsuit aims to:
Refrain from making a SIC’s MD-style presentation to the next plaintiff.
Stop the accused from blatantly portraying the next accused as the MD.
The fresh Acting MD’s capacity to carry out his duties has been greatly impacted by the circumstances. In an appointment with Citi News, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng shared his emotions:
” When I arrived, I had a very good intro meeting, but it was evident that I couldn’t get the company where I needed to work. As a result, I have generally worked remote, handling essential SIC things electronically. It has become clear that my father has locked up the office and taken the secrets, making the real reason I haven’t been able to access the company known. It is weird”. He disclosed.
