​Morocco 2025: Flamingos Surpass South Africa, Secure Final Round Ticket    

 

The Flamingos from Nigeria have advanced to the final qualifying round for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup after defeating Bantwana from South Africa with a score of 2-0. Under the guidance of Bankole Olowookere, the team secured a 5-1 aggregate victory in the second round of qualifiers. Nigeria started strong but had to wait until the 37th minute to score, with reliable forward Harmony Chidi netting the first goal with an impressive shot from within the penalty area. Also, in NPFL news, Insurance has received a boost as Emiloju and Enaruna return for their upcoming match against Abia Warriors. Chidi scored her third goal in the qualifying series. Eleven minutes into the second half, Aishat Animashaun extended the Flamingos’ lead. Nigeria will compete against the victor of the match between Botswana and Algeria in the final round.
