Under the guidance of Bankole Olowookere, the team secured a 5-1 aggregate victory in the second round of qualifiers. Nigeria started strong but had to wait until the 37th minute to score, with reliable forward Harmony Chidi netting the first goal with an impressive shot from within the penalty area.
