On Thursday morning, Nigeria’s Flamingos landed in Pretoria for their first leg of the second round qualifier for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup against South Africa’s Bantwana. Upon their arrival at OR Tambo International Airport, they encountered Samuel Eto’o Fils, a four-time African Player of the Year and the President of the Cameroon Football Federation. Eto’o greeted the young players, shared some encouraging words, and took a group photo with them. This Saturday, the match will take place at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria. The return match is scheduled for Saturday, March 15, at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne. The team that wins on aggregate will advance to the final qualifying round. Later this year, Morocco will be the host nation for the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
