Le feuilleton judiciaire involving Moustapha Diakhaté is being extended. The Tribunal, which was due to deliver its judgment on Wednesday 2 July 2025, finally decided to postpone its decision until Wednesday 9 July next, due to the strike of the Syndicat des travailleurs de la justice (Sytjust). The former minister-counsellor and former president of the parliamentary group Benno Bokk Yakaar faces prosecution. He is prosecuted for “offense to the Head of State” and “offense to a person exercising a part of the prerogatives of the President of the Republic”. In the face of the judge Moustapha Diakhaté had presented his defence in these terms: “I have only done to sing the anthem of the Republic, so that we do not collassardisse not”, he declared.
